2016 Best IPO IR Communications
On 22 November 2016, we celebrated a winning night at the annual Investor Relations Society Best Practice Awards, receiving the 'Best IPO IR communications' award for our work around re-joining the London Stock Exchange in November 2015.
2016 What House Awards
On 18 November 2016, we were pleased to receive a 'Bronze' award in the Best Retirement Scheme category at the What House Awards for Constance Place in Knebworth, Hertfordshire.
2016 Housebuilder Awards
On 3 November 2016, we were delighted to received double recognition at the 2016 Housebuilder Awards. Our combined Assisted Living and Ortus Homes scheme at Ramsay Grange / Lyle Court in Barnton, Edinburgh was awarded 'Best retirement scheme', the second year in a row we have won the award. We were also pleased to be awarded 'Best customer satisfaction initiative' which recognises the work that goes in to ensuring we deliver a truly Five Star service for our homeowners.
2016 Weymouth Civic Society Award for Design
In November 2016, the Weymouth Civic Society gave us their Annual Award for the best contribution to the built environment for our Harbour Lights Court development in the town.
2016 Building Safety Group Awards
In October 2016, we again won numerous awards at the Building Safety Group (BSG) Awards, the not-for-profit organisation specialising in providing health, safety and environmental advice for the construction industry. The awards included the BSG Member of the Year for our North East Region.
2016 NHBC Pride in the job Awards
In June 2016, we again won 10 Pride in the Job awards, which recognise site managers who achieve the highest standards in housebuilding.
2016 Health & Safety Awards
We were delighted to receive five NHBC Health & Safety commendations in July. The awards recognise and reward the very best in health & safety standards by housebuilders across the country and are driving up standards across the board by showcasing and sharing examples of best practice. To collect five awards is a great performance, giving us 8% of the total awards made to the industry. We were delighted that Paul Gethin, our site manager for Shrewsbury, then went on to win a Highly Commended award.
2016 Customer Satisfaction Surveys: 5 Star Award
For the eleventh year running, McCarthy & Stone has been recognised with a 5 Star Award from our customers through independent customer satisfaction surveys undertaken by the Home Builders Federation (HBF) and The National House Building Council (NHBC), and independently audited by the University of Reading. We are the only UK housebuilder, of any size or type, to win the 5 Star Award each year since the awards were established in 2005. Read more.
National Housing for Older People Awards 2015
In February 2016 we were pleased that our developments were recognised at these awards for the third year running. Rockhaven Court in Horwich again won the Gold Award for the 'Best UK Retirement Housing Scheme' in the 45 – 59 apartment category, while Queen Elizabeth Court in Kirkby Lonsdale won Bronze in the 'Best UK Retirement Housing Scheme' in the 34–39 apartment category.
Housebuilder Awards 2015
We are delighted to win the Best Retirement Scheme at the Annual Housebuilder awards. Our first Ortus Homes development at Scarlet Oak in Solihull won the award in a ceremony arranged by the Home Builders Federation and the National House Building Council that recognises excellence and innovation in housebuilding.

We were pleased to be named again in this year’s Sunday Times Grant Thornton Top Track 250 list of leading UK companies, rising to 35th position from 82nd last year.
UK Property Awards 2015
We are happy to announce that our Retirement Living development Singer Court in Paignton won ‘Best Residential Development – Devon' in the UK Property awards 2015.
We are also delighted to announce that our Ortus Homes development, Scarlet Oak in Solihull won ‘Best Residential Development – West Midlands’ in the UK Property awards 2015.
NHBC Pride in the Job Awards 2015

British Safety Group awards 2015
We received a number of awards from the Building Safety Group (BSG), a nationwide health and safety consultant to the construction industry. This includes two Regional Site Manager of the Year awards, the Northern Regional Member of the Year award, and the National BSG UK Member of the Year award.
West Lancashire Design Awards 2015
Coronation Court in Ormskirk won the Landscaping Category award in the West Lancashire Design awards.
UK Property Awards 2014
Queen Elizabeth Court in Kirkby Lonsdale won ‘Best Retirement Development UK’ in the UK Property Awards in October 2014. We were also pleased that our Basingstoke developments, Lady Susan Court and Emma Court, were highly recommended.

Malvern Civic Society Award 2014
Cartwright Court won the annual Malvern Civic Society Award in May 2014. The win came after the development was nominated by a member of the Malvern Civic Society who took a tour of the development during an open weekend and was impressed with what facilities were on offer to the elderly community in Malvern.
Housebuilder Awards 2014
Lady Susan Court & Emma Court, our combined Assisted Living and Retirement Living development in Basingstoke, was highly commended at the Housebuilder Awards 2014, in the ‘Best Retirement Scheme’ category.
The Housebuilder Awards are arranged by the Home Builders Federation and the NHBC and recognise excellence and innovation in house building.
UK Over-50s Housing Awards
We won two awards at the UK Over-50s Housing Awards in 2011 where we were praised for our innovation. We were judged to be the most outstanding Assisted Living provider in the UK in 2012. We were also very proud to win the Global Award. We believe that you should have the very best housing in later life. We think these awards demonstrate our commitment to that ideal.
NHBC Pride in the Job Awards
Pride in the Job is the only UK wide competition dedicated to recognising site managers who achieve the highest standards in house-building. It has been instrumental in driving up the quality of new homes for 32 years, and we are proud to have achieved 4 awards in 2013:
Quality Awards – Keith Julier at Peel Court Welwyn Garden City and Carl Lamb at North Bay Court, Scarborough, Seal of Excellence and National Award Winner was Carl Lamb at North Bay Court, Scarborough, and Seal of Excellence was awarded to Keith Julier from Peel Court Welwyn Garden City.
50+ Awards 2013
We won two awards at the 2013 50+ awards – voted for on the internet and soley based on the nominations and votes of those aged 50 and over. McCarthy & Stone are proud to have received Gold in the categories of Best 50+ Housing Provider and Best 50+ Assisted Living Housing Provider.
